Erste Ausgabe mit den Zeichnungen von Engelbert Seibertz. Rümann 2398. Mit 25 Stahlstichtafeln und zahlreichen Textholzschnitten. Einband berieben. Seiten und Tafeln stellenweise etwas stockfleckig (Tafeln überwiegend in den Rändern betroffen). Vorsätze erneuert. Insgesamt gutes bis sehr gutes Exemplar.
Leather binding of the times with six raised bands, richly blind- and gilt-tooled, and with all edges gilt. First edition with illustrations by Engelbert Seibertz. With 25 steel-engraved plates and numerous woodcut illustrations in the text. Binding rubbed. Pages and plates somewhat foxed in places (plates mostly in the margins). Endpapers renewed. Overall a good to very good copy.
