Lleather binding of the time with five raised bands, richly gilt floral decoration on the spine, a gilt-lettered spine title on a green leather label, and red sprinkled edges. Revised and expanded new edition. French-language edition. With a frontispiece after Jacques de Sève, engraved by Jean-Charles Baquoy, two title-page vignettes, and two woodcut headpieces. Bookplate of the writer and historian Rossi Giovanni Alvise (1776–1852). Binding considerably rubbed, with small losses to the spine covering at the head and tail; corners bumped. Good copy.
