Original full leather binding with six raised bands, gilt spine title, elaborate blind tooling, gilt-stamped medallions on the covers, and all edges gilt. New, revised edition. French-language issue. With a title page in red and black and numerous illustrations on plates and in the text. Binding slightly rubbed. Slightly loosened at the hinge before the title page. Endpapers, title page, and the first leaves more heavily foxed; pages overall lightly foxed and minimally darkened. A near fine copy.
