Neuausgabe. Englischsprachige Ausgabe. Durchweg illustriert mit ganzseitigen Farbholzstichen nach Walter Crane durch Edmund Evans und integrierten Versen. Die Blätter sind einseitig bedruckt. Die Ausgabe knüpft an die erstmals 1873-1874 bei George Routledge & Sons erschienenen Toybooks an und übernimmt deren charakteristische Drucktechnik. Einband berieben und etwas stockfleckig. Rücken stark aufgehellt und mit kleineren Fehlstellen an den Kapitalen. Bindung stellenweise etwas gelockert. In den Stegen zum Teil leicht fleckig. Insgesamt gutes Exemplar.
Original cloth binding with cover illustration and illustrated endpapers. Reissue. English-language edition. Illustrated throughout with full-page colour wood engravings after Walter Crane, printed by Edmund Evans, with integrated verses. Leaves printed on one side only. The edition follows the toybooks first published in 1873–1874 by George Routledge & Sons and adopts their characteristic printing technique. Binding rubbed and somewhat foxed. Spine heavily faded and with small losses at the head and tail. Binding slightly loose in places. Margins partly slightly stained. Overall a good copy.
