Hennert, Johann Friedrich: Cursus matheseos adplicatae. Band 5: Elementorum universae astronomiae pars altera, cui accedit ars nautica. Band 6: Elementa architecturae navalis, artis gubernandi naves, pyrothechnicae & acustices. 2 Bände (in 1). Traiectum ad Rhenum [Utrecht], ex officina A. van Paddenburg, 1773/1775. Klein-8°. 18 x 11,5 cm. XIX Seiten, [2] Blatt, 331 Seiten, [2] Blatt, [4] Blatt, XXVIII, 304 Seiten. Insgesamt 15 Tafeln.

Erste Ausgabe. vgl. Poggendorf I, 1066.
Half-leather binding of the time with gilt lettering and gilt volume numbering on red and green leather spine labels, marbled paper-covered boards, and blue sprinkled edges. First edition. Cf. Poggendorff I, 1066. With 15 engraved folding plates in total. The present copy contains the two final parts of Hennert’s nine-part mathematical work (Cursus matheseos purae in 3 volumes, Cursus matheseos adplicatae in 6 volumes). The Cursus matheseos adplicatae combines mathematical principles with their practical applications and, in the present parts, covers astronomy and navigation, as well as shipbuilding, navigation, pyrotechnics, and acoustics in particular. Binding somewhat rubbed, spine slightly stained. Endpapers with glue staining. Old ownership inscription in ink on the front endpaper. Pages slightly foxed at the beginning and towards the end, otherwise only occasionally and lightly foxed. In volume 5, some plates are slightly stained, one slightly more noticeably so (without loss to the image), in volume 6, the plates have a pale waterstain in the lower margin (only slightly darkened, not cockled, and not affecting the image). Overall near fine copy.
